Sharing the workload: Granulate joins IntelDawn

Asaf Ezra and Tal Saiag’s company didn’t exist four years ago. When we participated in their Series B last year, Granulate was still just two years old.

Now, this rocketship of a company is joining one of their titan champions, Intel — an acquisition so clearly a natural evolution for a business whose software agent slashes the cost of cloud deployments by up to 60 percent.

Granulate is the standard-bearer of Infrastructure 3.0. Cloud costs are the single largest cost for enterprises, and yet every company on earth has to be a software business: Granulate means the future, and present, are optimised, high-performance and cost-efficient.

Intel recognised this early, partnering with Granulate to optimise cloud resource management for customers that use Intel-powered resources. For those customers, that has meant tangible impact across all environments, with zero code changes.

In the year and a half we’ve had the privilege of working with this exceptional team, revenue has increased almost tenfold, headcount has risen over 250 percent to 130 people, and we’ve seen some of the best net revenue retention (NRR) numbers we’ve ever experienced.

Fuelling this commercial powerhouse, Tal and Asaf have continued to add to one of the finest teams of AI and performance engineers in the world. And it has been a pleasure to observe the technical brilliance with which they have built their product.

It is a testament to the potency of Israeli tech and, more than anything, a testament to truly inimitable founders.

For a giant like Intel, a business at the forefront of cloud technology, capturing this talent and growth makes complete sense.

We’re proud to have played a part in Granulate’s story, and can’t wait to see where their next steps take them. We certainly have had a lot of fun together!
