Henrik Muller-Hansen founded Gelato in Oslo with a vision to localise global print production. His insight was that the print industry was fundamentally inefficient: orders shipped long distances, generating waste, cost, and carbon emissions, when the same products could be printed on demand at facilities closer to the end customer.
Gelato built a platform connecting creators and e-commerce businesses with a network of over 100 print partners in 32 countries. Whether a customer orders a t-shirt in Tokyo or a canvas print in Toronto, Gelato routes the job to the nearest production facility, cutting delivery times, costs, and environmental impact. The platform now serves millions of creators and businesses worldwide.
